一 | (ECNS) -- A shipment of 23.5 metric tons of pepino melons from Shizong County, Yunnan Province, has been exported to Malaysia after passing inspections by Qujing Customs. This marks the first time the county's signature fruit has entered the overseas market. Historically reliant on the coal industry, Shizong has successfully transitioned to green agriculture. The local climate, which features high altitude, abundant sunlight, and large temperature variations between day and night, makes the region ideal for growing high quality pepino melons. To help local growers access international markets, Qujing Customs provided targeted guidance to align orchards with ASEAN standards, assisting them in securing export registration. Local producers now plan to further expand their footprint in the ASEAN market. Driven by such agricultural exports, Qujing Customs oversaw the export of 16,000 metric tons of agricultural products worth 210 million yuan (about $31 million) in the first seven months of this year, representing year-on-year increases of 73% and 57% respectively. 。 (ECNS) -- A minimalist bench outside Shiyuan Primary School in Beijing's Shunyi District has gone viral, with netizens calling it a model of smart, low‑cost urban design. The single horizontal bar serves as a waiting spot for parents, a safety barrier and a resting place for passers‑by. Photos of the bench have drawn thousands of likes and calls for nationwide rollout. Part of a two‑year micro‑renovation project completed in May, the bench sits under shaded canopies and complements new walking trails, rest stops and flower beds. Parents said the shaded seating makes waiting more comfortable during Beijing's summer heat. "We had no shelter from the sun while waiting for our kids," one parent said. "Now we can sit and stay out of the heat. It's very comfortable." The district authorities said they would continue rolling out similarly practical, people-oriented infrastructure projects, aiming to bring "small but beautiful" improvements to daily urban life.
